Guest guest
You know I did. It basically suggested I was misspelling it and only came up with the restaurant's site I provided below. Maybe they invented it themselves? But then, why such a strange name? -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > > I have tons of cookbooks and many are unique > international ones but I sure don't see this recipe. > Did you do the Google search for it? > Donna > > > --- Erin <truepatriot wrote: > > > Actually, I haven't tried the place yet, but was > > suggesting > > to some buddies up here that we give it a shot. > > They agreed. > > I saw that dessert and decided I couldn't wait, so > > had to > > look into making it myself. Guest guest
I don't know, maybe it's part of two names for different things in Nepal. Our family owned neighborhood mexican restaurant has a Mexican fortune cookie, the owner invented it, uses cinnamon and spices in the cookie and has messages in the cookie in Spanish on one side and English on the other side and he gave them an odd name. I can't remember it right now. I belong to a large Asian group and I asked for you so lets see if anyone comes up with a recipe. Guest guest
I also googled it, Erin and there were 3 pages of links, mostly from a group of people in the greater Boston area asking if anyone had managed to get gudpak shipped over from Kathmandu and a blog entry from one guy who didn't like it much, so I believe it is an authentic dish. I am now going to have to get along to the Gurkha Brigade restaurant pretty soon just to see if they have gudpak on the menu. What a shame this question didn't come up before Christmas when I was trasining a group of Ethnic Minority women, one of whom was Nepalese.
