Guest guest
It is a little short sited to think that simply because one is a vegetarian that it will have no effect on you. Unless you are a vegan, animal products that you consume, cheese and milk could well be products of cloning. And what about choice? Genetically modified food are already on the shelves. And if this does go through people wil be given even less choice about the food that they consume. Cloning is nothing like invetro fertilisation. In the latter an egg is removed, fertilised, and reinserted into the womb. With cloning the eggs DNA is destroyed, then a strand od dna is taken from the creature they wish to clone and inserted into the egg, and then the egg is chemically induced to zygosity. The idea being that if you have an animal with a certain size and amount of fat, or who produces more milk than a normal cow, that particular animal can be reproduced countless times. Like a facsimile. A perfect copy.
