Hello my darling veggie family. You guys may not know but you kept me going and

still do. This will be a short one since this is the first time I've sat up in 3

weeks.

For the medically minded, my hematocrit went down to 5. Blood pressure stayed

around 74/50. My blood glucose went up to 174-not that bad- but the nurses gave

me several units of insulin to cover. I started vomiting non stop after getting

the insulin so there wasn't any food in me to let the insulin work on so i

basically crashed and burned...alone. Unfortunately no one bothered coming in

to my room for 5 hours and when someone did she found me on the floor and called

for reinforcements. They finally did another check on my glucose and found it

to be 45. (After 5 hours on the floor...wonder what it went down to.)

Massive antibiotics, iv demerol and iv phenergan in a central line. (That was

fun, not.) The nurses and insurance company decided i was well enough to come

home (despite still passing lots of blood and bile and constant vomiting) so

here i am. Doc forgot to write script for pain med and phenergan. Bet he

doesn't forget to send the bill.

They need to do a special CAT scan with a dye they had to send away for because

they don't keep it on hand. On one of the small bowel exams they think they saw

something. Was such fun especially since the barium got stuck in the stricture

between esophagus and pouch, ha ha. Real fun came when they were pushing on gut

with the cone shaped whatever to get a good picture. Whoopie!!! From what i saw

on the fluroscope the surgery I had in 2002 didn't look anything like it does

now. It looks like something is wrapped around esphagus before terminating into

pouch, but what would i know? (Other than knowing i cannot eat, drink and keep

barfing at one end and getting rid of blood and bile at the other.)

Thought of all of you so very much, love all of you more than i can say. Think

i will go back to bed, sitting up makes my vision a little blurry. Can't imagine

why. Greatest Love to all, Jeanne in GA

(PS: after 34, yep 34 attempts to get in IV in and not blow out after an hour

they finally put the central line in. That hurt like a SOB. Still does now that

it is out. Next time they do one of those I am bringing pig castrator with me

for incentive for doc to be nicer and more generous with drugs.

Oh Jeanne, you have really been thru a lot...... My heart hurts that the

medical care was so inadequate. There is just no sense in that. Poor Baby.

I'm praying for you. Look at Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta. I

worked there for several years and they have folks come from all over the world

to see the doctors there. I saw so many things in the lab, on a daily basis

that most folks in the lab might see once or twice in their whole career doing

blood lab work. Those are excellent doctors and with every speciality

represented.

Lots of famous folks and very sick folks came there and were helped a lot.

BTW it was so nice to talk with you the other day at the hospital. You are such

joyful person, despite all of this horrible stuff. I still can't believe they

sent you home with that very low hemocrit and all of the other stuff you were

experiencing. Did you lie on the floor awake for the whole 5 hours.? I just

want to cry for you my internet veggie friend., but I am keeping hope and

positive thoughts that you will get better and find the right doctor to help you

get completely well. I'm praying for you.

Hugs of Encouragement and Hope,

Judy
