Guest guest
Has anyone had success making Mexican rice using brown rice? When I have tried in the past, the rice is not as fluffy has restaurant rice. That must be the nature of brown rice. Any suggestions? Guest guest
Brown rice has a hull where as the white rice doesn't, the best Mexican or Spanish rice is made with long grain white rice. I make Mexican rice weekly, it has salsa in it, the Spanish rice has tomoato sauce. When you saute the uncooked white rice it will burst open and absorb the flavor, the brown isn't as successful in these to recipes. Guest guest
I tried it before and it don't work. I make it with the long white rice. The brown one got all stuck together and stayed hard in some spots. Paul , " Zenmaria " <zenmaria wrote: > > Has anyone had success making Mexican rice using brown rice?
