I feel that one of the things that may cause you not to like this is the

flax seed. Flax can give a taste many people do not like.

Try your recipe using agar in stead of the flax. Flax is being used I

beleave as the thickener... agar should do the same. I am not sure how

much to uses. Go lightly at first. If you uses too much the recipe will be

called eggless Nog Geliten.

Try droping out the tumeric. I personally love it, but many people have

alergetic reactions from it. You might like to try a little mace or

allspice or both.

And .... Don't forget the RUM .... use at least three different rums ...

Mayers maybe, a light rum and a bit of Mt Gay dark rum (great rum from

Barbados ... fell for it on my honeymoon decades ago .... before the 'gay'

had a significance to me)

---------------

This reminds me .... have to beging a different thread for a comment ....

see if it flies, or goes over like a lead baloon .... Tidbits of U.M.

Allysia,

For this recipe, I just used the gel from the flax. I don't think it

had much taste. I have tried it quite a few times with ground flax

and it definitely had a taste not like egg nog. That is why I tried

it with the gel. I think the part I did not like was a chalky taste.

My wife had a recipe making rice milk from scratch. We always use

Basmati rice but I never tasted any chalky taste. I asked her if the

rice was well cooked and she said it was well cooked.

We use lots of turmeric so I don't think that affected the taste much.

I am very familiar with the taste. I don't drink alcohol so I'll

leave out the rum.

Thanks

GB
