Guest guest Posted December 21, 2006 Report Share Posted December 21, 2006 @@@@@ Ann Lee's Vegan Gernal Tsaos Tofu 3 T each: soy sauce, corn starch, sugar, white vinegar, wine 2 T chinese chili paste w/ garlic 1 tsp. each: fresh ginger, hoisin sauce 12 black peppercorns 2 cloves garlic 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper 2/3 C. water (or less depending on what veggies you choose) 1 15 oz cake tofu veggies mix all the ingredients except veggies and tofu well (make sure the corn starch is dissolved). You can use sake or beer (I have!) instead of the wine (if you don't have it). cut the tofu in 3-4 layers, then equal width strips, then cubes pour mix into frying pan (no oil!) on medium heat and add tofu and veggies (you may want the precook the veggies a little, but I just put cut carrots in).
