Guest guest
Just joined the group, I'm glad I found it. I'm relatively new to the vegetarian lifestyle, have only been at it for 3-4 months. The only animal product that I've been eating is dairy but I'm getting to the point where I can't bring myself to eat that anymore either, so I'm probably changing into a vegan. One question I have about that is whether there are any dairy farms out there that actually treat the cows in a real humane way, (it seems sometimes the conditions for animals are *relatively* better but not really that different) I understand the common practice is slaughtering them for beef after 5-6 years when they can no longer produce milk. Also I'm curious to know whether it's any different with goats and goats milk. And since I am new, I'm open to any suggestions as far as educating myself, a good book or a website - I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.
