Guest guest Posted December 13, 2006 Report Share Posted December 13, 2006 Vegan Chocolate Chip Bars 3/4 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup white sugar (can use raw sugar) 1 cup oil 1/3 cup tofu 2 T water 1 tsp vanilla 3 1/2 cups unbleached white flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350F. Cream together brown sugar, white sugar and oil. In a blender, blend the tofu, water and vanilla, and add to the sugar and oil. In a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix with the wet ingredients, and fold in the chocolate chips. Press into a 9 x 13 inch (23 x 38 cm) pan and bake 10-12 minutes (I had to bake them for much longer). Cool and cut into 24 bars.
