Oh boy, I bet you have to get up early to clear the snow away. Do you do it

on streets, or folks driveways/sidewalksOh

I hope you have sunny, less snowy winter. Do you do any winter sports? I bet

that would make it more fun and enjoyable.

We are phasing it out. Too stressful. We have a unique program that DH's dad

started in 1959. We have jeeps with brushes on the front that sweep right

down the public sidewalk, for an extremely economical price (my 66' wide lot

would cost me $81.00 for the whole season). We also do about 100 driveways.

Until this year we had another program for downtown businesses, but the machines

won't hold up to it anymore, and parts are scarce. 1979 was the last year the

vehicles we use were made, and our mechanic (a fabulous cook, BTW), tears

his hair out keeping them running.

Ironically, there is a fine line between too much and too little snow when

you look at profitability. I want about 2-3 " of snow every 2-4 days. Someone

work on that for me, please! Have a nice chat with Mother Nature. Put in a good

word for me.

DH is very frustrated with getting up at 3am to check the sidewalks. We are

going into a bio-diesel venture, which uses corn to make fuel (I'm not really

up on the details, but it is totally green). The product comes out of the

ground, and the by-product of making the fuel is an excellent fertilizer. So

what comes out of the ground goes back into it, and the product burns clean.

I do love ice skating, was pretty good as a youngster. If I get out there

and get some time under my belt again I'd enjoy a nice spin or waltz jump. I do

not ski, sledding is a stretch. I hate being cold. amyf
