I bought it for a Christmas gift but ended up giving it to DH early b/c he was complaining about our grate while zesting some fruit for sherbet. It works great, we love it. I've never used a small zester, so I can't compare it, but the microplane is great. AmyF

Guest guest
Depending on the price at the kitchen store, you might want to check the hardware store. You can find the same tool in the woodworking section often cheaper and sometimes built more sturdily. When microplanes were first getting popular I remember Alton Brown talking about this. Guest guest
WONDERFUL tool!!! My small zester makes skinny little strips of zest - the microplane grates it. It's also perfect for grating nutmeg & chocolate. GeGee Lite <chilifrenchfries wrote: Hey guys, does anyone have a " microplane zester? Guest guest
Hi, get rid of the small zester. You'll save your fingers and also save time. The microplane zester is great. I have a really large one that is wonderful made by Cuisipro. Good luck. Guest guest
GeGee This is one of my favorite tools. It works great for both hard rinds and soft rinds. You might want to do a search for " Cook's Illustrated. " They were having an offer of a free Microplane with a subscription. So with the Microplaner, the subscription would only cost about $7 GB , GeGee Lite <chilifrenchfries wrote: > > Hey guys, does anyone have a " microplane zester? Guest guest
The Microplane Zester is wonderful. It comes in different sizes, so if you want strips on orange peel or lemon peel than you need to get a larger hole sized zester.
