WAIT! I was just at Chows, in Lafayette CA last week. A sister lives in Lafayette and we all had a family get together.

But it wasn't vegan or vegetarian by any means....

There are two Chow restaurants in San Francisco and the one here in Lafayette has been wildly successful. They have an organic produce market, etc. I really love the place (and in their defense the manager did tell me to come back and let them buy us dinner). so we'll see - I scared the waitress off though - she turned our table over to another server.>well..congrats on the soy yogurt>they are based in Santa Cruz i believe...>hope to bacchus they aren't owned by some big meat compnay like >half the otherones...cuz i still buy their organic tofu(after >giving up on whitewave)I was hoping the same thing. Wow - that's amazing! This isn't a very big town. No, Chow is not

vegan or vegetarian - in fact they have very few dishes that are

either. But it's kind of a fun place (especially for Lafayette) and

we like the atmosphere. The noodles in question were the golden

noodles with miso, tofu, asian greens and peanuts. They have two

other noodles dishes - one with chicken and steak (both!) and one

with shrimp and chicken. So this dish sounded like it had the

potential to be vegan, or at least vegetarian. And I was very

explicit when I asked the server. oh well. live and learn.

What part of Lafayette does your sister live in? small world...
