As I'm travelling to Egypt shortly I've been recommended to take vaccines for various diseases (Hep. A, typhoid, etc), although it is only a recommendation, not a requirement. My local nurse thinks that as long as I'm very careful with hygiene and what I eat I should be ok. I've checked with the drug company that supplies my doctor, and the products don't contain animal products but do use animal derived material in the manufacturing process.
