I often wonder at meat-eaters who ask me what I think of them. What do theythink I would say? "Oh that's alright" or something similar. I find itdifficult to let them know how I feel without 'crushing' them. Hopefullywhat I do say will not alienate them so much that they disregard what I say.Jo> Good news on the whole there.>> The sooner people get it into their skulls that eating animals ,birds etcis> the type of lowly behaviour associated with savagery and not a civilized> society the better.> I think people need to be reminded off this fact as many seem to have> forgotten it.

Maybe some compassion can help. From my experience, I have met many meat eaters that do have some good values...they just aren't veg at this time. Most of them are not aware or simply haven't developed the love in their heart beyond humans. But that doesn't mean they don't have the "seed" of compassion within them that can develop. It doesn' t mean that they are bad people overall it just means they haven't developed this side of themselves.

Of course, there are those who are pretty bad...who willingly ignore the truth or who actually LIKE to kill animals or like the idea of animal suffering. I would say, these people, are bad...but even so they deserve our compassion for being so ignorant!

I am sure we can all think of a time when we were ignorant of some subject and when someone informs us of the truth in a kind way, we appreciate that they were kind to us instead of clobbering them and making us feel bad about ourselves at the same time. Why not give them that same kindness? If we are not kind to them about their ignorance why would they want to be like us at all?

Besides, it's not good to "clobber" another person karmically...because surely, at some point we will recieve the same treatment and feel the same feelings we caused in another....10 times over.

Hi I agree with what you say below.

What I ment.. by saying to the hardened and even less hardened meat-eater was that meat-eating is the type of behaviour asscociated with savagery and not civilisation..I ment it more in an informative way not a critical way.
