Again I really enjoy your stories...keep them coming!

By pots I assume you mean potatos? And I assume you are a raw fooder? Well, I do cook my food...not all my food but I eat cooked foods. I tried the 100% raw thing and for me it was very difficult. I can only do it on warm days. On cooler days or the cool seasons I have to have hot, cooked foods or I lose so much energy and warmth and the color to my face...have to sleep too much, wear too much clothing to keep warm. How much raw I eat depends upon the season and what feels right to me at the time. Right now I am eating a large raw salad everyday.

Anyways I eat as much potatos as I want. I don't worry about carbs...I am slim enough (5'6" and 112 pds). The only carbs I do worry about are wheat and processed and refined carbs. I don't do well on wheat. Other than that...I have no problem. I enjoy "pots" baked, and cut up as crinkle chips and baked, mashed...whatever! I love them and so does my dog, too.

Have a good day

Kristina

The muslims I was talking about was the ones who got converted from hindus to muslims during the Persian occupation of India. I do know that muslims in Indonesia do have pets(dogs). How do you eat pots, because they are my favorites too. You do not eat them raw, do you? I do not eats pots because they are high carbo and then you also have to cook them. Let me know if there is any other way to eat them.Regards.Atullv2breathe wrote:AtulI really, really enjoyed your stories of the Jains and India, etc. I've read some Jain literature and it seems like a beautiful religion. And, yes, I am amazed what some can do when they put their minds to it. They say in fasting that we are really energized by much more than food...but since we believe and are used to having food to keep us going, we feel we have to eat everyday. Very, very interesting. I love the whole yogic tradition of India. I am most familiar with Yogananda but am aware of others as well. He said India and the US has a karmic link. India shares her knowledge of self realization and we share ours of industry and other stuff. One other question...I was surprised you said that Muslims had dogs. I had only heard negative reports on their attitudes toward dogs and other animals. They think dogs and monkeys and other animals are just too "low" to consider (dirty, etc). I am glad to hear not all Muslims are like this What is your experience with this? Is it the Muslims in India who enjoy having dogs?KristinaI'd be bummed to go without potatos, though. It's a food I absolutely love! Kristina
