Guest guest
ok..yer wrong heh heh there were many competeting forms of christianity in the first several hundred years of the common era... at one time half the bishops were followin arian christianity as opposed to roman... its just that those that followed the roman model made sure to brand all the others as heretics and have them chased out, martyred, killed off, etc and so forth greek orthodoxy spawned russian orthodoxy... the first x-tians in china were nestorians... and of course you still have the coptics, the ethopians, etc and so forth the only reason so many denominations of christians(the protestants) owe their background to a wellspring of catholicism is because fer a long time that was almost the only game in town in western europe.... but, like i said, there are just as many in the eastern part of europe and middle asia whose antecedents do not hail from Rome and St Peter's Chair.... cheers fraggle Correct me if I'm wrong but >Christians of every denomination, with the exception of the Gnostics >and Coptics owe their faith directly to Roman Catholisism and to say >such a thing would be to say that any splinter of it was also "not >Christian".
