You seem to be taking the stance of a fundamentalist, which shows an incredible lack of tolerance for other beliefs. It is exactly the attitude that you are portraying which led to centuries of persecution in the Western world by the Catholic Church, and centuries of persecution in the Eastern world by the Islamic faith. Oh please. Ugh. YOU were the one who was telling ME that yogi's are no different. Who is telling who what to believe? I made it clear in the post prior to this one that if you don't believe or are a skeptic FINE.... it doesn't matter to me. Fine, fine, fine.... I don't care if you are a skeptic but you had the ego to try to tell me what to believe and are doing it again in your last post. And when did I ever say or imply that I was a better person? And who is calling who WRONG??? YOu were saying I am mistaken! Um, I don't think so! Maybe you are projecting your negative feelings about people who have a belief system onto me...without regarding the facts or who I am. I am not a self described Christian...I am an Eastern meditator and student of the yogi's, there is a difference...although Christians do deserve respect as well. I have found this often enough...many vegans and people on the left are always preaching "tolerance" but that only means tolerance towards some groups...but certainly not those who have beliefs or faith. Nothing personal...but there is no way I am going to feel differently just because *YOU* feel the yogi's are just regular people. I am happy to agree to disagree, Ok? Is that OK with you? You stated, and I quote: "yogi's don't just make assumptions...they are much, much bigger than that. Some yogi's such as Yogananda and others don't speak about death because they just are guessing...they speak about it because they know." Need I say more? > And when did I ever say or imply that I was a better person? And who is calling who WRONG??? YOu were saying I am mistaken! If you state that one person has the only truth (in your words that they know), by definition, anyone who has a different belief must be wrong. You are therefore stating that I am wrong. I am not saying your beliefs are wrong, I am saying that your assumption that everyone else is wrong is wrong. > I am happy to agree to disagree, Ok? Is that OK with you? It is not OK with me when you take the stance of a fundamentalist and tell other people that the only correct belief is your own. It is a very dangerous attitude and has been the root cause of the persecution of people who share my beliefs within living memory. Guest guest
Kristina If you would care to re-read all the posts on this subject you will notice that everyone else, whether Christian, Pagan, or anything else, has agreed that what they believe is their belief, but there is no proof. You, on the other hand, have stated that the Yogi's 'know'. If you have any logic at all you will realise that this implies that everyone else is most definitely wrong. We are all aware of how nice it is to have a faith, but also see the need not to imply that you or your faith is superior to others. For one thing, it is rude and inconsiderate. You cannot expect people to believe you just because you are overbearing. You also imply that the vegans on this list are lacking faith and are all on the left. This may not be so, and should not be assumed. Logically, some will have a faith and some will not (although that could be a faith in itself) - some will be on the left and some may not be. Many days ago, we were all happy to agree that there were several different views of what might happen after death, and that any one of them may be correct. It was you who said that it was only your view that was correct. We are quite happy for you to disagree with all the other views on here - but not happy to be told that you know better than the rest of us. Bright blessings Jo >Oh please. Ugh.
