Hi Dave

Well, there's never been a truly Marxist state to test the theory. The closest we ever came was 1917 Russia, but unfortunately the true Marxists never had an opportunity - as soon as it became obvious that there might be a Marxist state the Western World made sure it could never succeed. Marxist Russia was put in an impossible situation firstly with invasion, then with being completely cut off from the rest of the world. It is a sad fact that when you are put into a corner with a choice between fighting and death, even the most pacifist people will probably choose to fight.

And they were> right.I agree that, in the right circumstances, non-violent non-compliance has a great effect. I think the problem is that we are all dragged into the "them against us" point of view, and even when using pacifism as a tool, the viewpoint is still "fighting", albeit by peaceful means. I think we need to start a paradigm shift... if the powers that be tell you to do something, just completely ignore them. Don't "fight" against them... if enough people just ignore them, they will lose all their power, but while we are taking notice and pushing back, they have the winning hand.

Probably not put as well as I could have done... but there you go!
