Well, I've done some research on it and San Francisco (although a special place) isn't the only veg friendly place. On their website PETA list top ten cities in the US for vegetarians. It was pretty enligtening....and a lot of these cities are cultural yet don't cost an arm and a leg. Let's see....the ones I remember.... Austin, Texas, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Atlanta, Georgia, Portland?, Oregon,.... At the moment I can't remember any more...but there were at least 10 and then there were some good runner ups. Los Angeles was one of them because, believe it or not, there are lots of vegetarian restaurants there. Angela, let us know what you decide to do! Guest guest Posted February 9, 2004 Report Share Posted February 9, 2004 well..my two cents austin, while sorta kewl..is surrounded by tejas...its a tiny oasis in a very scary place.. minneapolis...its in minnesaota...COLD!!! and they have mosquitos the size of small planes come summer atlanta...georgia was just contemplating eliminating evolution from textbooks(sorry to you xtians out there....) portland....rain..and have waaaay to many bad experiences there to give it a good unbiased reviews LA..while having lotsa veggie places...if you haven't been there..you'll not understand..the place is VERY spread out..if you don't like to drive, ferget it.. but..explore and experience fer yerself!!! cheers fraggle Let's see....the ones I remember....
