Guest guest
I know that Sara earlier had talked of pooling our resources or finding a list of vegan items because being a new vegan can be a bit frustrating and confusing looking at all those alien looking names, well there are places that are well on there way of doing that for us. At least this can get some answers to questions and hopefully a good start for those that need a bit of help and not just being told to " look at the ingredients " knowing full well they should be but don't know what exactly they are looking at or for. One such place you can find items is Viva! USA where they have some vegan basics http://www.vivausa.org/activistresources/guides/veganbasics2.htm#whatdoyoueat Another site I just found where it looks like they are trying to add items they find to a list is: http://www.hotspotzone.com/Vegan/vegan_list.htm I don't think there will ever be a complete list, and it's probably better that there isn't as some companies often change formulas, which means that an item could be vegan one day and not so the next. Plus it keeps us up on our toes to make sure that the ingredients companies are putting in our food aren't no-no's. The net has plenty of people talking about vegan items, so to cut back on contacting companies you could always search google. For instance I often go to google and will type in an item and then tack on the word vegan after it and usually a ton of links come up of people on journals and message boards who are asking the same questions.
