Guest guest
Hey guys, Isn't it funny, the different attitudes and reactions we come across with our pets? A few weeks ago we had a BBQ for Ben's work here at home. When we moved inside afterwards, a couple of the guests noticed that I had received a parcel of vegan dog food that day, which was sitting out on the side table. The first response from the elder of the two women was interest, and then realisation. 'Oh my god, she said, I gave Missy some sausage off my plate, I am so sorry, I didn't realise'. I explained to her that that was okay, I would prefer it did not go to waste (if you insist on buying it, at least use it, don't just throw it out. Such a disgraceful dishonour, in my opinion). I explained to her that I did not like bringing meat into the house for the dogs, expecially in the evil dry food, but didn't mind her having scraps of whatever she wanted. She was very relieved! Poor thing felt horrible. Seconds later, however, the younger girl said 'oh my god, that is so cruel'. I explained to her that it wasn't, that it was the best dry food available, that I had to get it by mail order, that it was very expensive and helped with her arthritis/allergies (missy is 8). Also that I don't stop her eating meat that is given to her, but that I won't buy it myself. She had had a couple of drinks by that stage, so I didn't want to go into the diet too much, because I thought it was not the best time or place, but she seemed happy with that explanation. Interesting, huh? I don't think that anyone but a non-meat eater would think of seeking vegan dog food, so very few know of the benifits. It is a pity it cannot be marketed as a 'health food' like the other expensive brands are... kind of like soy products have been. Interesting anyway, just thought I would share my experiences. Not intending to start an arguement about feeding.... lol 'Chelle, et al, minus five __ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
