tricia,

It seems as though your family is pretty supportive, when my son was about a month old we were having dinner with the inlaws and they were talking about how they cant wait to feed my son hamburgers and I told them we were raising him vegan, well....... that didnt go so well.

My Husband didnt back me up much not untill the end and he wasnt even veggie yet at the time so they thought that I was the only one involved in that decision. They were so pissed off we didnt talk for some time. What I have always hated about my inlaws is that they treat my son as if he was more their son then my own, well in the beginning anyways but I put my foot down and my son is vegan, my husband is now vegan (since he watched the peta videos) and my inlaws are very happy with my sons development. They have even cut down on the meat, they arent perfect, although they understand the concept of no dairy and eggs, they wonder why my son cant have yogurt covered chocolate...lol

but they are soo supportive now.

On my side they know not to say anything bc I have a big mouth =)

ok now im rambling.

Tina, Its good to know at least i know someone who isnt too far away raising another vegan child.... all kids at that age r picky... my daughter was about that old when i weaned her from the breast... she was not happy..lol.. but she has always loved fruits and veggies...so maybe shes meant to be vegan... my family is pretty ok with it... my mom lives in arizona and doesnt see her daily but when she came she did give her foods like marshmallows cuz she didnt know..but i wont hold that against her... shes learning... but when i first said we were vegan and what i want her to eat etc... she asked me "can she eat chicken"... yeah not to smart of a question there... some say well wow shes limited in her food...what is she allowed to eat...then i ramble on ... the most interesting part should be xmas... with my grandparents who we

only c at xmas and if we go up north... they probably wont understand vegan or why i chose it... but oh well.. im making my own lasagna...ive never eaten tofurky and i dont know if i wanna spend 30$ on a food i dont know if we r gonna like...my step mom is the person who always makes my daughters bday cakes...and she has already asked how she can make a vegan one..so thats good.. how it goes is ..its my kid ..and i will raise her the way i want to... if she wants to eat meat when shes older than thats her choice but for now my decision... wow im rambling... tricia -- In , tina b wrote:> Hi,> I'm from Toronto, Canada> I have been on the list for a while but I don't have much of a chance to post, I have a 17 month old son and recently went back to work.> I think its great that your daughter is excepting her new diet, your lucky I'm sure allot of
