Hello Storm,

First, I feel saddened upon hearing about what happened to you this past

weekend. I can only imagine not only your physical pain, but also the sense

of violation and loss of safety you may be experiencing.

Regarding your inquiry, far and away the best course of action for you is,

in part:

1. Rest deeply.

2. Fast on water only. Take nothing, eat nothing.

3. Get help transporting clean water, if necessary, don't do it yourself ...

don't lift any weight at all.

An infection in your mouth that is not opposed by drugs will prove

constructive and will pass quickly IF you are fasting.

Honestly, if you can get yourself to a place where someone who knows about

fasting can support you for a bit, you will serve yourself well.

Best,

Elchanan

Hello, fellow raw-foodists and health enthusiasts! I need your input!

Last night, while walking home from the subway in Manhattan, I was mugged

and punched twice hard in the jaw by a strong man, and now I have a jaw

broken in two places (bones) but also a missing tooth and a lot of ripped-up

skin inside my mouth. At the ER a doctor drilled screws into my skull and

put in a wire to keep my jaw shut in place for 4 weeks, estimated.

They tried to give me morphine, I refused. (I have been a raw foodist for

several years now and I know that my body has become much more sensitive

than it used to be). Although it hurt like hell, let me tell you.

But they also gave me liquid penicillin (since I cannot open my mouth for 4

weeks all my food must be liquid--hello, juice fast?) to take home. It's

sitting on my counter. Should I take it or not? An infection in my mouth

could be disastrous. After all this rebuilding of immune systems with raw

foods and colonics and probiotics, mine is still weak. And yet I fear the

consequences of taking it--possibly ruining all the work I've done

rebuilding my " good bacteria " population.

Does anybody know about this more than I do and care to share? Can I take

both antibiotics and probiotics simultaneously? Does that help at all?

Thanks for any insight you may have!

-storm
