Guest guest
12/26 One of the most comfortable teachings of natural hygiene is the constant reminder that we need not live to eat, that the joys of getting together are primarily in sharing laughter and ideas - secondarily in sharing food. We can feast our eyes on the colors of the foods, on beautiful dishes and linens, and on the candles and fresh flowers centering the table. Soothing music in the background adds to any meal, and a prayer or silent reflection before eating seems to draw one's friends together, despite their differences. The old time pleasures of a game, a walk, dancing, or just star-gazing on the patio can make a memorable evening for all concerned. And a fringe benefit of keeping supper simple is that few were kitchen chores means more time for you to spend for yourself and with your company. A party should be a party for the host and hostess, too!
