Guest guest
I AM NOT ENDORSING ANY PROGRAMS! Hello, my name is Danielle. I am new to the group. A neighboor of mine was telling me about this food surplus program called " Angel food ministries " , I think is what it is called. Anyway basically what it is, is a select menu of food that can be purchased as a boxed set for a certain price. Then it is delivered to local churches for distrubution to the person that purchased it. Now, for those of you that know what I am talking about, we're on the same page. For those who are not, check out angelfoodministries.com to check out what I am talking about. OK, now that we all understand what we are talking about. As you can see on the website they offer some fruits and vegatables, but nothing to support a vegan lifestyle. Well what if we created one. Especially for people who live in Nothern state, where fresh fruits and vegetables are not plentiful nor cheap through the winter months of the year. If we could set up this kind of idea for vegetarians, would there be a demand for it, especially during the winter months when the farmer's markets are shut down. Or would it be a better idea to reach out to the greenhouse or small operation farmers and develope some form of transport system to purchase from southern growers to transport produce up North? I am a truck driver with lots of trucker buddies, many who transport coast to coast. I usually get my produce from them when they are out in California or Florida and are headed back this way to Indiana. They will pick up a few things on the way or something like that and bring me the reciepts for it, and that's what I pay them back. Would there be a demand for an idea like that? Would love feedback on these ideas, or if something like this already exist I would love to take part in it. Thanks, Danielle
