Guest guest
Hi all, I'm excited to be celebrating my first raw Thanksgiving and am planning to make a lot of dishes to bring to my grandma's next week. I've found a bunch of websites with recipes, but I'm wondering if you have any favorites you'd like to share? Also, a bunch of my friends are talking about what they are doing for " Turkey Day. " I decided to send them info about Farm Sanctuary's Adopt- A-Turkey program: http://www.adoptaturkey.org/ I also sent them info on the treatment of turkeys without telling them they're horrible people for eating meat. The reality is, demand for meat is increasing by the year. According to Farm Sanctuary, between 250 and 300 million turkeys are raised for slaughter every year in the U.S. -- 46 million alone for Thanksgiving. U.S. turkey consumption has increased by 108 percent since 1970. http://www.adoptaturkey.org/industry.htm Lastly, this is hilarious. Leave it to Fox to declare a " War on Turkey. " I don't eat tofu anymore, but it's great to see tofurkey on national TV, especially a channel like Fox. The talking head Neil Cavuto called tofu an " alien product. " I found it while reading this sad story about a Japanese fleet hunting humpbacks. Scroll down on the left under video to see Fox's turkey segment: http://news./s/ap/20071116/ap_on_re_as/japan_hunting_humpbacks ~Rose
