The knowledge of ourselves, physically, until within a comparatively recent

period, has been practically overlooked and neglected. But during the last

25 years, a new era has dawned upon our race. Books of anatomy and

physiology have been written for families and schools; and the study of " the

house we live in " , has become at least the order of the day.
