Re: [Raw Food] The master cleanse

A pound or two of most anything is bound to cause a reaction, don't cha

think (o;! ~ Claudia

No, Claudia, and that is precisely the point made by the earlier poster. Go

eat a pound or two or more of bananas ... no such reaction!!!

The point is that we are DESIGNED to eat several pounds of food at a sitting

.... if and ONLY if that food is high in water content and soluble/digestible

fiber and low in fat, protein, and indigestible fiber. So we are indeed

designed to eat pounds of fruits and greens ... I routinely eat a salad

containing well more than 5 pounds of food!!! (2 pounds of greens, several

pounds of tomato, perhaps cucumber, zucchini or the like). And I routinely

eat a meal consisting of 10-15 bananas, again more than 5 pounds of food.

But all these foods consist 70-97% of water, so almost all the weight is

merely water. Now if I were to eat that weight in DRY foods, then ... OY!!!

In other words, the weight of the food we eat means little, in and of

itself. The CONTENT of the food means a great deal!!!

See the difference? That's why we speak to such an extent about eating

high-water-content foods.

Best,

Elchanan

Well, I'd better get busy and start changing my diet, lol! I have a

long ways to go. But I do think if I would try to eat that much

without easeing into it my insides would freak out. Thank you for

giving me an idea of what is attainable. ~ Claudia
