Appreciating Our Symptoms AS Our Healing and As Our Ultimate Information Resource

Caron, I agree completely ... and I have also made a similar statement (only

more like 1/2, not 1/3) at times. I make if for impact when speaking

directly with people ... I comprehend the distinction between rhetoric and

information.

If the " symptom " is as the medical model identifies, namely the " heart

attack " itself, then the statement is correct. And of course, if we consider

the full panorama of symptoms leading up to the heart attack, then the

statement is silly.

This is precisely the same point I made just a few minutes ago in another

post. Our symptoms are not misleading, quite the opposite. Learning to

NOTICE and then to appreciate and comprehend (interpret) our symptoms, that

is another matter entirely.

From my perspective, the statement makes okay rhetoric (not " great " ), and

not more. I agree!

Best,

Elchanan

>death being the first " symptom " of 1/3 of all heart attacks (roughly).

It depends on what symptoms you identify, really. Some people might not see

obesity, " unfitness " , fatigue, stress, etc as symptoms, as they are quite

usual these days. Usual does not mean healthy.

True. But many physically fit, energetic men drop dead of heart

attacks, too. Erica
