My research a few years ago led me to the following understanding:

 

Probiotics, the bacteria that fermentation provides, have been linked

to disease prevention. It was deduced that both pathogens----disease-

causing bacteria--- and probiotics compete for limited receptor sites

on cells. This means that only one or the other is able to succeed.

It is easy to see why it is wise to arm our digestive tract.

 

Dr. Ann Wigmore was very big on eating fermented foods with every

meal. Very few rawfoodists ingest ferments. Where does everybody get

theirs?

 

I drink Kombucha, but supplement, too.
