Guest guest
Lynne, What I share may surprise you a bit. It matters little what you do or don't do about these baby teeth. What matters is what this portends for the future of her ADULT teeth, the ones that must last a lifetime in her mouth. I have seen RFs " get cavities " , only to watch as their bodies repaired these from the inside, out. (This is akin to losing hair for awhile, then experiencing a resurgence into the most wonderful hair of a lifetime.) And I have seen cases, too, where the damage from the past was sufficiently severe that the body's choice was to eliminate its own teeth, rather than attempt to repair them. This occurs in high correlation with dental recommendations for root canal procedures. They would kill the teeth by removing the underlying nerves, because they believe that, from the body's point of view, the teeth are very nearly dead anyway. (But this is not ALWAYS the case, so please don't run off and tell anyone that " Elchanan said .... " ) We would need to know more about your history, your husband's history, and your daughter's history and present diet and lifestyle before we could intelligently give more advice. Also, there can be ... and likely ARE ... significant emotional and postural issues associated with all this, issues that affect muscle tone throughout her face and head, how she holds and moves her jaw, and so forth. And all this is not a conversation constructively handled via email. I suggest taking it into a private conversation with someone whose knowledge you trust. Okay, I'm reaching out again for support!! My four year old daughter, Emily, had 4 cavities in August. In September, the pediatric dentist was able to fill 2 of the 4 cavities. However, they said that the only way they could work on her teeth WITH her cooperation was to sedate her with Nitrous Oxide. So they did, and she did fine. But now I don't like the fact that they're going to have to give her the Nitrous Oxide again, and that CAN'T be GOOD for HER!! But what are the alternatives? They said that problems could get worse if I don't get the cavities filled in her baby teeth. Right now Emily has no pain at all from the cavities!! I was just wondering if anybody would have some advice about this. Is there a way that I can get her dental work done without using an unnatural gas, and is it really necessary to fill cavities in teeth that are going to fall out soon anyway? Thanks for listening!!
