Hi Carla and all,

 

If you mean that this woman (in the documentary) needed disastrous,

life-threatening feedback in order to summon up sufficient self-love to take

her life seriously and take care of herself properly, then I suppose you

might say that she " needed " this diagnosis. But the diagnosis does not alter

the path of healthful living. Anyone, anytime, can simply decide to live

healthfully and then choose to do so. And from that point, forward, whatever

was inside them that might have been diagnosed if they HAD gone shopping for

diagnoses will begin to vanish from their body, their being, their life.

 

Also, I notice that you often say " perfect diet " . I am aware of no proponent

of 80/10/10 who would ever describe this approach to eating as " perfect " .

Rather, I would say that this is the best approach of which I am aware for

our species and given the present level of development of our species.

 

Quite honestly, if we ever reach a point where we connect with Nature in

such a way as to reduce or even eliminate our need for physical food, then

our whole world, and that of every other creature in the world, will change.

I have the sense that this is possible, though I cannot presently say how we

might travel there in sufficient numbers to make a species-level shift. But

we shall first have to choose to cease all acts of conscious killing, large

and small alike, except perhaps for rare ... RARE ... acts borne of

self-preservation. And even this, I question at the deepest level.

 

By the way, the foregoing is definitely NOT a natural hygiene idea, not by a

long shot. And while I'm touching upon that label, I wish to share that I do

not consider myself a natural hygienist, nor do I apply any other label to

myself. My calling is Elchanan. That's it. No labels, no certifications, no

licenses, no degrees. I hold forth in the world with nothing of such a

nature. I share what I have to share, and people receive what they choose to

receive. That's it.

This reminds me of the documentary I just saw: Crazy Sexy Cancer.

Basically, its about a woman who is treating and stopping the growth of her

rare, " incurable " cancer on a raw vegan diet. She had to know she had

cancer somehow to even begin to find a way to cure herself. I think testing

is necessary. Sure, if you've been a raw vegan for 20 years, maybe not.

Then again, though this is the perfect diet, I doubt its total protection

for our environment; the air we breathe and the water we drink to start...

Breatharianism? Turns out it's also called " inedia. "

I had not heard of the latter word before.
