Guest guest
Hi Carla, and thanks for sharing all this about your own experience!! I'd like to share 2 stories, one my own, one shared by a teacher named Smokey Santillo, a big RF proponent of juicing (Energetics of Juicing audios). My story first. I was introduced to RF in May, 1997 by Laurie Masters, author of The 80/10/10 Success Guide and editor for Doug Graham, Cherie Soria, et. al. Shortly thereafter, I hired Laurie to come work in my little software company. Around July, we became embroiled in a big project and basically pulled 3 consecutive all-nighters. (Yep, I used to live that way. Well, Laurie brought all this food, and without really having a clue, I unwittingly went all raw for 3 days. And on the third day, early in the afternoon, I discovered orificial intelligence. Stuff came virtually pouring out every available orifice in my body. I'll not elaborate further. This continued for a couple of hours, and naturally I felt miserable. After awhile, Laurie remembered something she had learned in the one (and at the time only) RF class she had ever taken. She suggested that, to eliminate the symptoms I was experiencing, all I needed to do was head over the the nearby Burger King and eat anything on the menu. I suppose I held out for another hour or two, then I took her up on her suggestion and ate, well, whatever it was. And lo and behold, my symptoms ceased almost immediately. And so I learned my first BIG lesson about health: The strongest acute symptoms occur in the presence of the greatest vitality. I had improved my vitality just a bit in those 3 days, just enough for my body to get the message ... energy up, resources up, CLEAN HOUSE NOW!!! A delightful day, all in all. And now for Smokey's story, as I recall from his audio program. Smokey grew up in an Italian family. I mean, hard-core Italian, at least when it came to food. They would take fat drippings from one meal and put them on bread for the next!!! So one day, Smokey goes all-raw. Eats a bunch of fruit. And on that first day, he requires 14 separate visits to the restroom (by his counting, of course. :) As excellent foresight would have it, Smokey had scheduled a first date for that very day. We never heard whether there was a second date. Lesson learned: Add water and soft, water-soluble, digestible fiber, and you clean house NOW!!! Carla, this is why I wrote to, and Tim to you, earlier about the interpretation of your own experience. The experience is real ... sometimes all TOO real. But what it might mean ... that's another matter, an opportunity for great leaning. Best to all, Elchanan _____ Carla Rose [rose.carla] Friday, October 26, 2007 3:20 PM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] Re: The downside of 8/1/1...Hallelujah Acres Janet, I'm not sure, though its something to consider. I stopped eating gluten, soy, dairy, coffee, refined sugar, processed foods, processed grains, fast foods, and general junk gradually starting 5 years ago (started with fast and processed foods) so it wasnt like I went from full blown SAD to raw overnight. I went raw (and VEGAN) starting in April. I had insulin resistance which is why I stopped eating processed foods especially sugar years ago. Going back into eating a lot of fruit has been very hard for me. I dont eat more than 3 servings a day though I can eat more. I just had a very large Fuji apple (because it was easy and simple) which is probably two servings right there. I actually feel woozy and slightly nauseated now-- no matter how good it was. I dont get that reaction from greens, veggies and fats. Carla
