Creating Health From the Inside, Out; Defensive Living vs. Healthful Living [Harmlessness]

Greetings Tim, and once again thank you for your kind inquiry.

The whole topic about organisms entering one's body really is a nonissue at

every step of the way, for this reason: the effect on YOU is entirely a

function of you ... today, tomorrow, always.

And it is also a nonissue because you cannot prevent organisms from entering

your body ... by this, I mean simply that it's physically impossible to do

so, or even meaningfully to stem the flow, unless you go live in an

industrial-grade clean room. And even then, it's far from perfect, as any

semiconductor manufacturer can attest.

You breathe, you eat, you drink, your skin travels through the air and

touches things. You open your eyes, your auditory canal is an open tube. It

really, truly is a nonissue.

I understand that you have been taught to believe otherwise. I'm offering

you an entirely new perspective. As long as you believe the germ theory,

which basically holds that our species is under a continuous and relentless

attack within Nature, then you have no choice other than to live

defensively. That's what all the food washing, hand washing, and so forth

are all about ... living defensively.

The only thing one can ever truly change is oneself. This applies equally to

the physical as to the mental.

If we attend to ourselves, if we create ourselves as the healthiest selves

we can become, then most things that Nature throws our way AND most of the

ever-so-feared manmade toxins that come our way really do become a

nonissue--even the heavy metals. (There are some exceptions--and to my

knowledge, these are either huge molecules manufactured for specific

industrial applications, or radioactive debris).

This is a central theme in The China Study. Dr. Campbell & Co. found that

once the diet was improved at least to the point of eliminating animal-based

foods, the body was sufficiently restored to flush out all the " harmful

stuff " . And the diet they studied doesn't hold a candle to the diet I

suggest and teach about.

Does the body kill some things in the course of conducting normal metabolic

activity? Sure--that's precisely the point!!! If you are healthy, vital,

then you body possesses its full capacity to do just that!!

Does the vast majority of its elimination occur without killing anything?

Absolutely!!!

And almost all killing in Nature occurs for exactly ONE reason: food. This

contrasts dramatically with the entirely fear-based defensive killing in

which we have been taught to engage.

People rail against the fear-mongering of the food and drug companies. But

when push comes to shove, who really believes what they are saying about all

the fear mongering? Or do we just fall right back into the very fears we

have been taught all along.

Finally, I hope that, as a whole organism, we all possess a level of

consciousness that transcends what occurs at the metabolic level of

activity. If we do not, then in terms of spirituality we live at the same

level as a paramecium. And this I do not believe to be so.

Best,

Elchanan

While there is a certain amount of truth in what you say...it is certainly

not a " nonissue. "

For depending upon where you are on the " path " it is, at points, very much

of an issue.

You phrased it more appropriately in your second paragraph by saying that as

one advances on this path, it can progressively becomes less of an issue.

Interesting though isn't it that our immune systems engage in considerable

" killing. " They function more like Patton in Africa than Gautama Buddah in

India.

Rgds,

Tim
