Guest guest
Yes, physically you CAN juice sprouts, you CAN juice a rock, given the right equipment. (Yes, all rocks contain water.) But most of the sprout will remain on the " wrong side " of the juicer, that's all. Why? Because sprouts don't contain ENOUGH water to carry forward much of the nutrient content of the sprout into the juice. I mean, pause and reflect for a moment ... why do you think they have you throw the sprouts in with the other ingredients? Because all the water is in the other ingredients!!! But the juicer will not transfer much of that water into or through the sprouts, the juicing process simply works too quickly for that to happen. Of course, it's your money and they are your sprouts .... Elchanan _____ illuminedpixie [katyaifyoucan] Wednesday, October 24, 2007 12:44 PM rawfood [Raw Food] Re: What to do with sprouts? Just found another great sprouty website: sproutpeople.com. And yes you can juice your sprouts. Throw a handful in with your other veg/fruit. Though I prefer to munch them so I get all the live enzymes before they get a chance to oxidize. I just read that sunflower sprouts are not half as good if grown without soil, so I guess they're not quite as easy to grow as broccoli sprouts for example. I've been inspired to go and but a tray sprouter after all this sprout talk. Katya.
