For anyone interested in wild food, there has been an

interesting program on radio here (UK) about foraging and

living off wild food and with a focus on nutrition. Fergus

Drennan is a forager and he recently spent a month just

feeding himself this way, that is what the program is

about. He plans to do live this way for a year and then

write a book.

from his website;

" Wild plants are nutritionally rich - uniquely so.

Unlike cultivated vegetables, salad leaves and herbs for

which - even if grown organically, many of the essential

nutrients - in the form of manure or chemical fertilizer -

have to be transported to the artificially set aside

growing site, a wild plant germinates and flourishes where

it is because the perfect balance of water, sunshine and

nutrients come together in that unique location. "

this program, 30 mins in length at

at the top of the page is a link

[listen to the latest edition]

below the top, right hand column. The date to use is 19

Oct.
