Hi Janet,

What a " great story " !!

One of the important distinctions we can learn about health is that

intervention MAY be beneficial in the presence of trauma and its effects. In

your case, you experienced repetitive trauma that affected your ears (and

probably every other part of you, as well). To me, an intervention of the

type and magnitude you describe makes all the sense in the world in such a

circumstance. No need to " confess " . :):)

[Raw Food] Re: Raw diet apparently lessens build-up in ears

True confessions here... Years ago, I developed a ringing in my ears upon

returning from cannery work in Alaska. Every time some one closed a door,

I'd hear distortion crunching in my ear. After about a year of trying oils,

drops, and even ear candles, I went to a ...shhhh...(whispers)a doctor

....SHHHHH! An ear, nose, throat doctor, that is. He got out a long tool I

was better off not noticing and proceeded to pull out a chunk of resin too

big and hard to EVER come out any other way (I may be wrong about that). It

was a painful procedure, but WORTH IT. I think this is a situation where

going to a doctor to get the ears checked out is useful. Prevention is

better, but sometimes immediate relief (ok, a year isn't exactly immediate)

is worth its weight in gold. The chunk that came out of my ear looked good

for setting in a big ring like amber. It probably had a bug in it to boot!

Any wax an ear candle can get out of the ear can be extracted through other

means. They are expensive and completely unnecessary, imo. And, I'm not

convinced they work in the slightest. Different candles will show different

amounts of residue...candle wax residue.
