Guest guest
Hi Joe, and congratulations!!! 1. No. What happens is simple and straightforward: the healthier ... more vital ... your system is when you enter the fast, the more quickly you transition. In addition, if you eat primarily fruits and greens, then only a short time is required to finish digesting your last meal, so you enter a fasting state very quickly. For most people, it takes 2-3 days ... no matter how many times they have fasted before. So it's primarily a matter of vitality, not a matter of repetition. Now, people who fast multiple times may EXPERIENCE getting in faster and faster ... but if this is so, then it is because they have become healthier over time, not because they have fasted before. However, they may ATTRIBUTE their experience to repetitive fasting ... untrained observers and uninformed people often do not know what they are observing ... one of the the classic problems with anecdotal evidence. So it's GREAT that you are asking!!! 2. Yes, alcohol and sugar have very similar chemical structures, that's why sugar converts so easily into alcohol. Best of luck as you go forward! I have read in places that your body gets used to the " idea " of fasting and enters them more quickly once accustomed...is this true in anyone else's experience? The ketone's smell like rubbing alcohol, as acetone is the active ingredient in my mom's finger nail polish remover (don't worry I didn't used to huff it as a kid lol!, just remember it...come to think of it, I must be dating girls who just let their polish flake off because I haven't smelled it in years, even though there's a bottle someone left in my shaving cabinet) and is obviously a member of the ketone family. I haven't planned how long I am going to go. Not likely more than 8 days though, but I'll just go with the flow and enjoy the experience. Maybe I'll post to this thread if anything interesting happens. Have the best day ever! Joe
