Hast thine sense of curiosity forsaken thee? What a beautiful post! :-) Actually, I DO know of people who have " cured their candida " , according to them, with 8/1/1. I believe them that they got rid of whatever it was. And ditto for those who follow - and this is a fun one - the " conventional alternative " route, which Robert Young, Ph.D, Gabriel Cousens, MD, Brian Clements and many many more who use scientific testing have concluded is the proper way. What I like to point out is that most of us are never tested for candida. When I have done extensive saliva testing with an internationally acclaimed natural doctor, I was told I had it really bad (which I knew), then it improved, and THEN I went on a big bender eating potatoes, bread, white sugar, drinking beer, and my dr didn't know, I overnighted him morning spit, and he told me my candida was gone. I felt like crap and knew why, and I still have never called him back to this day. I used to do the water/saliva test at home. I'm not sure anybody's is ever clear for that, although some people are worse, so...? The main point is that there are over 100 symptoms for candida, and although it is a very real thing, it is but one of zillions of fungi, let alone the bacteria, viri and parasites that infiltrate our body. Everybody just says it's " candida " because they've had antibiotics at least once and feel like sh*t. I honestly can say that to me it no longer matters to prove that point, and I don't think it should be the focus, really. I mean, healing is the goal, no matter how you do it. I don't think it's accurate to tell people for sure it is one or the other anymore, really, although the no-fruit theory is more backed with testing, etc. Still, I respect that some just do crappy on that, and applaud that they keep searching. To know for sure either way, people have to live very very strictly and for an elongated period of time. That is not easy, even among raw food vegans. I definitely really started benefitting when I just added a rife machine to my regimen. So I wouldn't bash or rule out either, all in all. My friend Joey DID cure his psoriasis/fungus by eating plenty of raw vegan fats and zero fruit sugar, and tons of greens, for over a year. I totally am so proud of him - THAT is not easy! When he did goof up and eat fruit once or twice, he did feel awful and a flare-up. I do know someone else who cured their issues with 8/1/1, finally, after never feeling so hot on regular raw/vegan. Eventually, these people MIGHT, though. Something in the fats or imbalance in their diet might agitate whatever their condition is. Over time, though, when people heal this and the antagonist is gone, they typically, from what I know, do not experience reactions to fruit and the like. I am most comfortable NOW being less strident and more accepting of the possibilities. However, my main point is, candida never really appears ALONE, either. There is so much more going on in us. Nobody is pretty much super healthy BUT for their massive candida problem, you know? :-) ERica
Guest guest
Susanne, I said " sensitive to " . I did not use the word " allergy " in any form ... that is your word in this conversation. The difference is enormous, as " allergies " are merely a category of medical diagnoses designed to kick off payments for treatments. There are few true allergies; the rest are all explainable by other means ... but that would mean looking at diet as a primary cause, and that would mean mucho lost sales for both allopaths and other practitioners alike. Really, what you experience can be explained in very different ways ... what is at issue, from my point of view, is only what you will consider listening to, nothing more. The odds that you have had candida are slim ... and there are reasons why you struggle with going all raw. These reasons are the same reasons. And they may not all be physical in nature. Another post, tomorrow. I think soy and gluten should be avoided like the plague as well. However, I know many, many people who are in perfect health and have no problems whatsoever with these foods. I actually sublet office space from a doctor that does food allergy testing, and the most common allergy she sees is dairy. Allergies to wheat, gluten, soy, sugar and eggs are not as common as people think. Susanne
