Guest guest
On the contrary, Erica, it is not only irrelevant but destructive. Human Infants are designed to nurse for nearly most or even all of their nutrition well into toddlerhood ... 4 years, in some societies. And when they do begin to transition from animal milk (that of their own mother only) onto plant-based foods, they are designed ... and they will naturally gravitate toward ... eating fruits, one food at a time. This is Nature's design. Any attempt to combine foods, a.k.a. create recipes, for a little one is counterproductive to that child's health. It slows the digestion (creates digestive congestion), diverts water and blood from other vital functions, at the very least. The crucial lesson here is to recognize and refrain from imposing upon our children those inherently harmful practices we were taught by people who simply did not know otherwise. There is NO form of healthful food combining in one so young. Actually, it isn't so irrelevant because it will be relevant pretty shortly, and it's important to be prepared as the parent of a raw foods toddler. I thought it was a great suggestion. I agree with you that nursing is ideal at 8 months, though. Erica
