Guest guest
Hi Janie and everyone, Janie, thanks SO much for this very kind description of our conversation. I feel so delighted that you were able to turn things around with such ease and speed. That's often the case ... but not always. You invited me to add comments, thanks. My comments are simple and straightforward: 1. We paused to reflect upon what might actually be happening to cause what you were experiencing. In other words, we used your symptoms as a jumping off point into an exploration, not to prescribe any intervention. We took your symptoms as face value, not reading in anything about this or that organ or the like. Just kept it very simple. I often find that pausing to reflect is a constructive step in problem-solving. 2. We didn't try to fix or treat anything; we never took the point of view that you were " broken " in any way. Rather, we assumed that your system was trying to communicate something. As a result, you were able to choose first, to monitor a bit, and second, to adjust a few things in your daily eating pattern, that was all. And it turns out it was sufficient. We had fun in the process and didn't make anything more serious than it needed to be. Even though your symptoms were uncomfortable and a bit frightening to you, the underlying problem was simple and straightforward. I often find that this is the case, that people can experience large benefits from making a few simple adjustments ... they just need to know what to adjust, and how. Thanks again for your kind telling of the story! Best, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of bentsmom Friday, October 12, 2007 5:31 PM rawfood [Raw Food] update ... Lately, I'm finding I feel very nervous and wired....kinda like the feeling I use to get after drinking too much coffee. At times I can hold out my hand and it is uncontrollable shaky. It seems I feel this way more after mono eating for a few meals. (say, eating only bananas for breakfast and lunch) Any advice? After posting this, Elchanan graciously volunteered to have a phone conversation with me. Naturally, I jumped at this offer! In the conversation, Elchanan suggested a few things to me...1.) to be more aware of my body telling telling me when I was thirsty. 2.) to make sure I was getting enough leafy greens each day. 3.) to keep a daily record of the amount of calories I was consuming. I took his advise and I'm shocked at how much more I am drinking. I had not been eating the greens I should, and was WAY under the calorie intake I need. Four days later, I'm feeling much better. I'm even- keeled once again! Life IS Good!!!!! :-) Elchanan also sent me a link to his audio tape, " Am I of one minds or two " after I had shared with him that my father had recently passed away and he thought the tape my be of some benefit to me. It is great!! Elchanan, please feel free to pipe in with any thing else you want to add here. Thank you for your time! You're been most kind and it's appreciated! Be Well...Be Happy!
