I can't remember who, but apparently someone is talking about

applying urine to a skin rash.

That would mean hosing down the rash with acid.

I dunno ... doesn't sound like a likely solution to me!!! Maybe I

need to learn the " new chemistry " .

Urine DOES work very well on jellyfish stings ... because the

chemistry involved is different, NOT because urine is some cure-

all.

Hi Elchanan,

Hang on a minute! My urine is not acid. It is very nearly neutral,

just slightly alkaline (pH 7.25) as is the urine of any healthy

person. If yours is acid, you need to improve your diet! :-)

Not that I have the slightest interest in putting urine on my skin.

It does fine with a bit of clean water now and again. Really this

post is to encourage people to minitor their pH, as it is such a

useful indicator of how healthy you are and how good your diet is.

Also it can be very encouraging if you are making changes, to see

that those changes are actually doing something.

For a long time I ate mostly fruit and some greens, but with

significant amounts of nuts, seeds, cheese, rye crispbread, butter,

eggs and salt. My pH was around 6.25 (acid), sometimes 5.5 (very

acid). Then I changed to mainly fruit and some greens, with very

small amounts of nuts and seeds, and my pH very quickly moved into

the healthy range (7 to 7.5).

I would be very interested to hear from anyone else about what their

pH is and what they are eating.

Regards

Roger Rowan
