Guest guest Posted September 29, 2007 Report Share Posted September 29, 2007 Hi everyone, I notice an ongoing conversation in the group about stevia, whether or not this is a toxic substance. I'd offer a different and much simpler approach. If you cannot enjoy the foods you are eating without intensifying ( " enhancing " ) their flavor in some way (whether by sweetening, spicing, salting, or the like), then either you are eating the wrong foods for you, or your health is such that your sensory awareness is substantively damaged and your body requires time to restore that awareness, or some combination of these two. In other words, I'm not commenting upon stevia, in and of itself, at all, one way or the other. Rather, I'm commenting more generally upon what lies beneath a desire to intensify the flavors (or the aromas) of the things we eat.
