Guest guest
" Before debating further, read this: http://www.beyondveg.com/tu-j-l/raw-cooked/raw-cooked-2b.shtml#enzymes " That seems to me quite faulty reasoning, and in some places completely inconsequential, arguing against the enzyme theory. He uses processes of cooked food digestion to imply eating raw makes no difference, mixes up points all over the place and completely misses some in others. I cant even begin, and neither do I want to, explain what is wrong with his criticisms...I'm an astrophysicist, but it doesn't take that to see how ridiculous that weblink is. Totally mind boggling. When someone criticizes the use of the word " life-force " or " aura " or whatever, it simple shows that the person is completely missing the point!! It is funny to contradict my scientist friends when I ask them if they believe if life forms have an aura. Of course, they scoff and look at me like I'm an idiot. Then I ask them if there are many species of fish and shark that can detect the electromagnetic field of live prey from a distance. " Certainly " , they say. Well what is a non-scientists way of saying " electromagnetic field " ? AURA!! Where and why does the electromagnetic field arise from the organism? Well, because it is alive and undergoing life-processes. LIFE-FORCE! These words have real meaning, but many scientists have been educated beyond their intelligence, and lose the ability to understand what they mean. Now, my last post asked: what is the difference between raw and cooked food that makes raw so good for you? Fiber makes a difference for sure, but I do not think it makes THE difference. You could take a great quality fiber supplement everyday, and have very good bowel movements from it, but I think if you're eating dead food in between you will not gain health as you do from raw food. The enzyme theory of raw food and health hasn't been dis-proven for me yet. Enzymes certainly survive past the mouth and into the stomach, and at the cozy body temp of 37C will be highly activated. It certainly makes sense that our body will have evolved with the knowledge and ability to " work " with the enzymes provided by raw, natural food. How it does this I require more information on though...I just got a new book and am reading it now. Joe
