That means, try eating the coffee or cacao beans STRAIGHT. Unroasted, unprocessed in any way. And I agree completely about the tastes ... modern foods are designed in food chemistry labs with the precise intent of creating flavors that overwhelm (overstimulate) our taste buds, thereby becoming habit-forming (at the very least). This is why we must employ ALL our sensory awarenesses, not just taste, in selecting our foods ... and we must apply these to the foods in their original form, as they actually occur in Nature.
