Guest guest
I am going to say this one last time Janet. I DIDN'T ADVOCATE IT. Advocating something means saying you SHOULD eat something. Advocating something means RECOMMENDING you eat something. I didn't do that, ever. If you would read my posts, instead of sensationalizing your own position, and inventing one for me, you would understand that my position is IF YOU DO partake of a " bad " food for whatever reason - i.e., social, emotional, a craving...you know, all the things that REAL people go through daily and HAVE a difficult time with - then the raw eating you're doing the rest of the time is still a great accomplishment and will still give you many if not all the health benefits of 100% raw. And practically, if my mate bought me chocolates for my birthday, I am going to accept the love she gave me and let her see me enjoy them! A few darned chocolates once a year isn't going to hurt you...there's no need to live in fear of that. Look, this place is not for " experts " to debate " gurus " about exact percentages of this or that or whatever. That is SO pointless, and extremely boring and incredibly annoying. Let's instead talk to the new people and give them guidelines and recommendations and support for going raw, realizing that we all went through a transition at some point and were NOT 100% raw right away. That is, of course, if the new people aren't too quickly spirited away by other economic forces. So, let us try, from now on, to see the VAST similarities in our posts, rather than focus on the MINUTE differences and make such a negative deal out of them. So, why > advocate eating anything that isn't optimal, especially when it > involves death? > > Janet > Hello Janet, I'm going to share my 5+ years on the list and what I " think " Joe is getting at here. Some people, when trying to go 100% raw, drop into near clinical depression when they have a " slip " and consume something cooked or happen, without thinking, eat a piece of chocolate. So, I personally no longer beat myself up over a casual piece of cooked food. I used to. Once you absorb the knowledge of this group you can no longer savor the steak or other cooked food anyway! In the 12-Step fellowships, whether it's AA or NA etc, they have a " humorous " phrase which is actually true and it refers to when members go " OFF " the wagon and start drinking or smoking weed or whatever you drug of choice is and it's called: " The curse of AA (or NA) " whereas even when you do go and try and get loaded you can't stop thinking about the " clean " life and you never really enjoy getting drunk or high again! And actually come back to the rooms and complain that it was useless -- the memory of the clean life would not leave the mind! So, I think for a child the above may not apply, maybe just feeling other emotional feelings of not being like the rest of the kids and that's another issue better left to a parent to decide as to whether to let the kid go to the party at all then. The toys at the party may be suspect and when all the other kids are playing and having fun it may be difficult to explain to a 4 year old that the cake is no good despite everyone else eating it and the toys are bad, may be from China... Jeez, you may end up having a bigger beef (excuse the pun) with the parents that threw the party and not your child! Keep the kid at home or take him to the park. > rawfood , " Joe Postma " <joepostma wrote: > > Hi Janet, This needs to stop.
