Thanks Elchanan,

I was hoping to toss the supplements after going raw but I'm just not sure

I'm getting all that I need!

Hubby just went to the library to get the 80/10/1 book.

How do you feel about supplementation or what raw foods to support the

heart...trying to keep my husband from getting a heart transplant! So far

on 100% raw he is doing well with increased energy.

We had a natropath tell us to use enzymes that digest proteins...so they can

rebuild his heart.

Thanks for all your help.

[Raw Food] Choosing a RF Program: Enzymes and Supplements

Jackie,

It depends on which approach to raw you choose. Some programs integrate

supplements (and possibly including enzymes). In my opinion, all such

programs are inherently deficient. Other programs eschew supplements of

any

kind (except, perhaps, in extraordinary cases). The 80/10/10 approach,

discussed here at great length, falls into this group.

I strongly select choosing an approach that eschews supplementation; those

are the people who have figured out how to live healthfully without

additives.

Best,

Elchanan

[Raw Food] enzymes and supplements

I've been 100%raw for just over one month now, don't really have any

dis-eases I'm aware of, and have been feeling pretty good being raw but

also

feeling like I should be feeling much better! I actually ate very good

prior to being raw, no packaged, processed foods, lots of veggies and

fruits, some cookde, some not but ate cooked meats daily and I luved

bacon!

So now I'm wondering, does one need to continue to take enzymes and

supplemental vitamins while eating 100% raw? I eat whole fruits and

veggies, usually have a juice, smoothie and salad each day plus additional

fruit. How do I know when or if I should stop supplementing?

Thanks for all your wisdom!

~ Jackie

You may want to get this verified, but my understanding is

that high sulfur foods would also be good as sulfur is the

basic substance the body uses for building material.

there is this though;
