Sanity Check RE: Plants have feelings, too.

I agree, Janet, and I'd add some more: When we eat primarily fruits and

tender green leaves, and occasionally some nuts or seeds, we do not, in

fact, kill even the plant. The difference here is utterly complete.

 

Now some may say, " Yes, but we kill the lettuce plants " , etc. Well, we

possess the capacity to grow our own, to harvest the leaves and to leave the

plant until it goes to seed, which is its end of life. THEN we may harvest

the seeds (that we may grow more of our own) and take the plant.

Honestly, I had to hold myself back. Everyday I watch friends and families

consume meat and milk. I can't really blame them, for they do not know, and

their power of denial is strong.

 

I may be wrong about this, but because of " mad cow disease " I was under the

impression that the practice of feeding cows meat has largely stopped. Do

you know the status of this?
