Skin irritation - tanning salon (WAS: Too much fruit?)

Hi Belinda,

It may take a number of days to clear up, even a couple of weeks,

particularly if indeed caused by stuff in the tanning salon. I would never

recommend a tanning salon to anyone ... just site naked by a window and read

a book or something.

Also, interesting to read your description of eating as a child ... you

weren't exactly eating JUST strawberries. :):)

Anyway, lying in cool water might bring you some temporary relief. And a

fast on water only (no food at all) for a couple or three days might do a

world of good, as well.

Just let your system clean itself up.

Best,

Elchanan

catching up after a busy weekend.

I don't really believe it is too much fruit that I am eating, but wondered

about it because I can remember in times past (when I was a kid) that I

would occasionally break out around my mouth when I ate a lot of

strawberries (during strawberry season) or tomatoes (when they were in

season. By alot, I mean, strawberries on my cereal, strawberry jelly with my

PBJ sandwiches, strawberries and whip cream at night before bed, and just a

handful of strawberries through out the day. After a few days of this, my

face would sometimes break out in a bit of a rash. Not itchy, just very

small red pimples. I have not had that happen to me in many years.

The fruits I have been eating every day for some time now, are peaches, red

grapes, bananas, mangos, blueberries and strawberries. I am especially

eating a lot of peaches right now, because they are so GOOD right now, and I

know they are not going to last much longer.

Anyway, I am staying out of the sun and tanning bed (probably won't ever get

back in a tanning bed, unless it is the stand up kind where I won't be

touching anything) and trying to avoid the heat. Not easy, since it is so

hot here.

But here I am, Tues. morning and still itching. Just to make my hubby happy

I am going to lay off of the fruit(as in cut back) for a few days, and

replace with veggies.
