Guest guest
My daughter and I made this one up today. (One of the joys of being a homeschool family is that we have the freedom to teach things a little different than the standard curriculum suggests - our theme unit this week is Food & Nutrition. Our lesson plans don't look like most Kindergarten classes!) We called this one Magic Green Elixir- it has the power to stop Junk-food Jokester in his tracks if he sneaks into our house. It came out a lovely shade of green, we froze what was left into Popsicles for tomorrow. We juiced the following (all organic)- 4 small leaves Lacinato Blue Kale 6 Romaine leaves 1/2 zucchini (just the skin actually) 2 large Red Leaf Lettuce leaves a bit of cilantro from the garden just for fun! 1/8 honeydew melon 3/4 Pear Then we blended the juice with 1/2 pear 1/2 zucchini (the flesh left after juicing the skin) 1/8 honeydew melon 1/4 cup frozen chunks Thai coconut 4 oz Aloe vera gel Some of the mixes we have tried did not turn out so well, but we have fun coming up with ideas (and often I just do a fridge sweep- juice whatever green things are in abundance with some carrots!)
