Guest guest Posted August 10, 2007 Report Share Posted August 10, 2007 Greetings. What percentage of raw foods do u need to eat so u would start to notice an improvement in your health? And how long do u suppose it would take to start to feel a noticeable difference in your overall health? I really want to feel some changes, but I am just starting out and I would say I am 50% raw--though it is hard to figure an actual percentage for raw----it is just a guesstimate. Will 50% really do much?? A typical raw day for me now is: eat just fruits in the morning: blueberries then 1/2 later a pear, 1/2 or so later a banana. I do this until 11 or 12pm. Then salads with homemade dressing. Salad is raw, dressing is not: (Olive Oil, Org Golden Balsamic and peach all- fruit jam). snacks: nuts, (not many), fruit and raw veggies. Baked veggies with lots of garlic bulbs. And still I eat tuna to feel full. Tuna with Vegenese (no more mayo) with salad or raw veggies. Trying for: no meat, no dairy and no sweets. Lots of water. 6am and 3pm: tea with rice milk and raw honey. If I need dessert it has been banana alone or with org peanut butter and raw honey. My diet before raw was: I ate lots of salads, beans, veggies (raw & cooked) plain or with hummus or tuna and lots of dairy, (which i have a food intolerance tooo!)--milk (1%) , lots of cheese & butter, eggs (only on occasion), yogurt (lots) and keifer. And tons of tuna fish. Many nights dinner was 6 triskets with tuna. Tuna with lots of Mayo. Whole Grain Cereal (1% milk or rice or soy milk) with a banana was usually breakfast, and the banana was usually my one piece of fruit a day. I did not eat much meat. Lots of water and some supplements. And a very nasty sweet tooth, so i would not bring sweets into the house until i " binged " and then for 3 days I would eat sweets--often times for meal replacement. I preferred sweets over all other foods. Still do ! (Many times I would lose my taste. I could not taste foods except for the sweet foods---drs could find no cause for my loss of taste) I " binged " approx every 3/6 weeks--depending on my control. Not a pretty pic, I know.
